Once I finish this Day 8, then Day 12, I will be able to get back to blogging on more recent days. However, now I am way behind on those days as well. There just isn't enough time to spend each day to keep up to date. But here goes my best for a short day.
The weather was the usual cloudy skies when we left Whitianga. It seems the temperature is about the same here in a the summer as it is at home in California in the winter. For some reason, I expected more warmth here in New Zealand.

Someone in the group had indicated we would have a Photo Shoot for a local newspaper, so here we are all lined up. Then we were told it 'was already done', so we have no idea who did it or when.

After we arrived at the hotel, we went for a walk to find medication for my "cold" and to see the town, most of which was closed on Mondays. Others had gone to see the Geysers. While out walking we ran into John and Christine and made dinner plans at an Italian restaurant not far from the hotel. While there, we ran into Pam and Alan who then joined us for dinner. Many in the group went to the local Maori Dinner and Show.

As I wasn't feeling too great, we headed to bed early. Not a very exciting day- the weather was poor and the Morgan Member BBQ cancelled due to family ill health. We expected Rotorua to be pretty, but it was rather dull in the cloudy day.
